I think the pattern is ingenious. The designer is providing excellent step by step directions. You will crochet the same 10 rows over and over but in different color combinations. The first one, you will think is a little challenging. But you will get used to it and then it becomes second nature. Each square does not take a huge amount of time. However, weaving in the ends is a different story. You use a new color for 9 out of the 10 rows in many of the squares.

On the bright side, if you weave in the ends carefully, the blanket will be reversible. The motif looks stunning on both sides.

Great pattern to make a great looking bag! The instructions for making the grannies are very thorough and clear. I struggled a bit with the joining method and sewing of the lining, but that probably says more about my sewing skills (or lack thereof) than anything else.
